Guaranteed Power
Power is the key for equipment’s optimal running in our datacenter facilities. Without an optimal electric supply it’s not possible to operate. The datacenter is equipped with the most secure and flexible electrical infrastructure that includes diesel generators with fuel supply, UPSs, redundant elements in the electric distribution network and efficient scaling procedures as well as a 24/7 technical support team.

We also are equipped with the latest systems in monitoring and systems management in order to protect the IT infrastructure. The advanced service level provides two stand-alone power outlets located in every rack. Each outlet is connected to a different electrical distribution network and both of them are protected with UPS systems. Availability is guaranteed at a 99.999% service level.

Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning
Clients’ areas are equipped with under-floor air-conditioning cooling systems. These systems have been specifically designed to ease the cooling of computing and telecommunications equipments and have been installed with redundancy. Our facilities are designed to ensure the optimal cooling of all datacenter equipment assuming a full occupation. Temperature is kept between 18 and 25 Celsius degrees (64 and 77 Fahrenheit degrees) and the relative humidity between 40% and 60%.

Our facilities are equipped with water leak detection systems in every area susceptible of water leakage.
 
Fire prevention
Datacenter is equipped with fire detection and extinction systems running on inert gas (Inergen). This is an automatic system and it’s monitored constantly 24/7. A VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Alarm) system is also installed to protect the facilities. In case of fire this system alerts the support team of smoke presence in order to appropriate measures to be taken.

Security
Restrictive security measures have been established at our datacenter to protect clients’ assets. Our facilities have been designed as a “building into building” and they are protected by intrusion detection systems and 24/7 security guards. Every visitor has to be indentified and has to be in the authorized access client’s list. Inside the security areas, surveillance cameras monitor for visitor’s activities.
 
24/7 Access
Access to the datacenter and to the client’s equipment is available 24/7. Support center has to be informed to validate the client’s access, and the answer to the access request is given within 30 minutes.
 
Structured Cabling
Optical Fiber reaches the building from two different and independent points. Cable trays guide the fiber from those entry points to the BFP (Building Flexibility Points). Those points are the ones where exterior cabling converts into internal use cabling. Our datacenter is ready to accept additional redundant fiber cable into each client’s room. Operator’s room is a place located into the datacenter where telecom carriers keep their “Points of Presence” with their optical fiber and active equipments needed to grant access to their telecom networks.

Cabling management system
Structured cabling system ensures the optimal management and enforces connectivity inside the datacenter. Structured cabling allows and eases quick inter-network data flow. Every connection inside the datacenter uses the “Meet Me Room” (MMR) through UTP, coaxial or fiber cables. Connection reaches the room’s rack so the client only has to patch their equipment. A full data integrity test and a guaranteed quick response, supports every connection in the unlikely case of an internal failure.

To be able to quickly locate the existent clients’ connections, every cable installation is managed by our cabling management system so we are capable to guarantee:
Total connectivity transparency of every client inside the datacenter.
Cabling scalability.
Cabling design that eases data recovery in case of disaster, failure diagnostics and reparation, clearer management and control.

Telecom carriers interconnection (Core)
Apser is RIPE’s LIR (Local Internet Registry) since 2005. As we have our own autonomous system (AS39140) we are fully independent to choose, assign and manage IP addressing and interconnection with different carriers.

We have multihoming IP connection with several carriers using BGP-4 protocol, so we are able to offer 99.99% service level guarantees.

Every element in the interconnection area (CORE) is replicated to avoid failure points:

Security Zones
We have two isolated zones to connect client’s equipments:
Non-secured zone: Client’s assets are straight connected to the Internet so network traffic is not filtered through our firewalls.
Secured Zone: Client’s equipments are connected to the Internet through apser’s managed firewall system.

Hosting Services
Two hosting services are offered:
Virtual Private Server: Virtual Host with O.S. and technical specifications required by client.
Physical Dedicated Servers.
 
Clients using our hosting services can be connected to the network using either apser’s shared firewalls and/or client’s dedicated firewalls.

Clients can connect using apser’s redundant access network or hire his own connection with the carrier of his choice. Datacenter provides direct connection with more than 30 domestic and international telecom carriers.

Clients can hire apser to manage their assets. From specific actions on the O.S. to application management, updates, scheduled tasks …

We offer automated backup systems, based on tape or disk and managed by apser’s crew, so the client can perform backups of his data with the policies of his choice.

If client’s assets are not equipped with dual power supply, we offer in every rack automatic power supply switching systems (STS), so the client can connect his assets to two stand-alone UPS’s so he can benefit from power redundancy.

Every client’s asset can be monitored through apser’s monitoring platform, defining different thresholds for alarm generation.
 
Monitoring Services
To be able to provide 99.99% service levels, we need to anticipate potential failures that may occur. To accomplish this task, apser has a monitoring platform able to control every asset installed inside datacenter and at client’s facilities.

Monitoring of every asset with status visibility through apser’s NOC and client’s extranet.
Centralized (inside Datacenter) or remote (using a probe at client’s facilities) monitoring.
Web, e-mail and SMS alerts.
Customizable service thresholds based on the element to be monitored.
